▹7075 Aluminum Extrusion
7075 aluminum alloy is super hard, but it can still be extruded. However, 7075 cannot be extruded with a splitter die due to its low plasticity, and it cannot be hollow profiles. 7075T6 is common extrusion products. 7075 T6 aluminum has good plasticity after solution treatment and has excellent heat treatment strengthening effect. It has high strength below 150 degrees and has particularly useful low-temperature strength, poor weldability, stress corrosion cracking tendency, and double aging can improve anti-SCC performance. It has lower resistance to corrosion than many other aluminum alloys but has significantly better corrosion resistance than the 2xxx (2024, 2A12) alloys. Its relatively high cost limits its use, and its extrusion is also harder in production compared with other aluminium alloys.
