Architectural Aluminium Extrusion
Architectural aluminium includes aluminum panels and aluminum extrusion profiles. In addition to extruded aluminum profiles, aluminium profile for building construction also have aluminium tube and aluminium bar, but most of them are shaped. In the building construction industry, aluminum extrusion materials are mainly used to make door and window frames, curtain wall structures and ceiling channel and grid; the other part of architectural aluminum is aluminum plates, curtain walls and decorative aluminum plates or aluminum-plastic composite panels. The aluminum curtain wall is a kind of modern curtain wall, in addition to the glass curtain wall, the stone curtain wall, etc., but the structural material of the curtain wall is still aluminum profile. Aluminium extrusion manufacturers mostly use 6000 series aluminum alloys to produce aluminum door, window and curtain wall and decorative architectural aluminum, including aluminum alloy 6060 6061 6063 6005 6463. 6000 series is the best extrusion type of aluminum alloy, and is the most widely used one. 80% of the global extruded aluminum alloy belongs to the 6000 series alloy.
The aluminum alloy has the characteristics of high strength, light weight, strong stability, strong corrosion resistance, good plasticity, small deformation, no pollution, no toxicity, strong fire resistance, long service life and good recovery. The surface treatment of aluminum can be anodizing, powder coating, water-based paint spraying, and fluorocarbon paint spraying. Anodized color can be white, silver, black, brown, champagne, bronze and so on. Powder coating is the most common surface treatment for architectural profiles, it can be sprayed in a variety of colors and has general weatherability. Wood grain sublimation heat transfer provides a timber look that is close to nature on the basis of powder coating, which makes the color of the building and interior decoration more harmonious. The curtain wall and window frame for outdoor use can be sprayed with fluorocarbon, which can achieve long-term weather resistance, and is very suitable for harsh high temperature and humid salt spray environment. Therefore, aluminum is widely used in industrial and civil construction roofs, walls, doors and windows, skeletons, interior and exterior decorative panels, ceilings and grid, railings, interior furniture, etc. The construction industry is one of the three major markets for aluminum, with around 30% of the world’s total aluminum production being used in the construction industry.
