Anodizing and powder coating are the most common surface treatments for telescoping aluminum tubing. Confirmation of color is a necessary step before production. We can provide anodized color samples and RAL color panels. We also support custom color matching based on your solid sample.
Alloys 6061 and 6063 are the most common aluminum alloys used in telescopic aluminium tubes. Alloy 6061 has higher strength than 6063, so 6061 is good for structural products as well as load-bearing products, such as robotic arms. Alloy 6063 has a better appearance after surface treatment, so it’s good for consumer products, like cell phone selfie sticks. Some products that require ultra-high strength (such as high-end ski poles) use 7075 alloy, which has a tensile strength of more than 500 MPa, much higher than 6061 alloy.
The contact area between the round telescopic aluminum tubes is uniform. If the gap is too small, you will feel stuck when used. If the gap is too large, the inner tube will shake. The ideal gap is 0.25-0.4mm. We must strictly control the inner diameter and wall thickness of the round aluminum tubes during extrusion.
