While our aluminum extrusions have so many positives and suit a wide range of applications, there could be limitations. There are applications where strength is a key factor and the strength of aluminum extrusions may not be adequate. Since the extrusions may not be as strong as steel in such instances, reinforcement or bigger profiles may be required. Also, some profiles are simply too complex and have extremely tight tolerances. It becomes too difficult to extrude them or the process is too expensive. As a customer, the increased lead times and the higher initial cost for customized tooling may be worth considering. Fortunately, our experienced team of engineers is usually able to strike a balance of all such considerations to deliver a cost-effective and optimum aluminum extrusion profile design.
